Welcome to our little piece of heaven in the Kentish countryside. Here at Hope Farm under the Lovejoy Farm Partnership umbrella is a pedigree and commercial sheep enterprise, a hay and straw business largely serving the equine market, a livery yard and recently establishing campsite.

Working alongside us is shepherd Will Edmonds who has recently joined us.

Numbers are currently running at 1050 commercial ewes including 75 pedigree Poll Dorsets and a grading up flock of pedigree Romneys, which are run across 650 acres. The main commercial flock consists of Romneys and Suffolk x Romneys and we retain about 250 replacement legs each year.

We’re both self confessed farming fans and really love the sheep. Edward grew up on a family farm in Sussex which has a large camping and caravan site, while I grew up in Kent and went to an agricultural college. Edward became self employed in 2003 and together we purchased our first sheep that autumn and numbers have grown from those original 13 mixed breed legs since.

We have both been heavily involved in Young Farmers and continue to support our local Club, knowing that over the next few years our girls will likely become involved and love it as much as we did.

Alongside the sheep enterprise, we manage a successful hay and straw business largely serving the equine sector across Kent and Sussex.

Showing of the pedigree Poll Dorset flock is carried out on a local level with success at the Heathfield, South of England and Edenbridge and Oxted shows over the last few years. Beltex x Poll Dorsets are shown locally at winter primestock shows with success gained at both the South of England Primestock Show at Ardingly and the Ashford Cattle Show.
