Running 650 acres of rented grazing between our farm at Wittersham and the villages of Stone, Appledore and Woodchurch, the commercial sheep enterprise consists of 900 ewes and 250 tegs.

Breed choice is largely Suffolk cross Kents which are put to a Texel or Beltex. Alongside those is a nucleus flock of pure Kent’s which are put to a Kent ram to produce homebred replacements. We have been buying rams from prolific flocks and a further flock of 50 Beltex x Poll Dorset cross females are kept and put back to Beltex tups for prime stock shows and the early summer market.

Progeny from the commercial flock are sold liveweight through Hobbs Parker at Ashford Market as either stores or fat depending on market trends and seasonality demand.
